Throughout her career, Sarah has maintained a focus on enabling others to lead healthy lifestyles. She graduated from Acadia University with Bachelor of Recreation Management with honors, majoring in Sport Management and then went on to complete a Master of Business Administration at Saint Mary’s University. During her MBA she completed a major research project on employee physical activity levels and work place outcomes. Sarah went on to work in corporate wellness and then managed a collaborative program focused on increasing physical activity levels of children and adults in the Halifax region. Wanting to work hands on helping others lead healthy and active lifestyles, Sarah returned to school and completed her Master of Science in physiotherapy in 2016.
During her physiotherapy degree, Sarah’s major research project focused on exercise progression for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). She believes strongly in patient education and exercise progression as part of rehabilitation from pain and injury. Sarah’s physio approach is holistic and she draws on her years of experience as a yoga teacher to help clients heal.
Sarah has been teaching yoga for over 12 years, having trained with very senior ashtanga yoga teachers. She draws on the experience of touch to help people gain a deeper understanding of how their body moves, both physically and energetically. Sarah applies this practise to both yoga students and physiotherapy clients alike. In addition to physiotherapy, Sarah is also offering yoga private and group classes.
In her personal life Sarah is an outdoor enthusiast and may be found riding a wave when the surf conditions are right. She has two beautiful dogs and is currently completing her introduction to Canine Rehabilitation.
